¡Mola! :D
Our shortfilm, The Lady and the Reaper, has won the second award of ArtFutura. The third one has been for Suckers, an animation series by Genoma Animation Studios and produced by BRB and Screen21. I work in this series too doing all the character designs, the logo and some animatics. Actually, I feel a little more than that because I've been involved in this project from its birth, in the very first brainstormings, contributing with ideas and concepts, so somehow I feel it kind of my "little baby" :P The point is BRB has uploaded some chapters to Youtube, even though the series isn't on TV yet, so I couldn't resist to post them here too :) I hope you like them. The series has been bought by Disney XD in USA and Japan, what I've heard that makes it the first 100% Spanish series sold to Disney ever. Cool!!

The Lady and the Reaper (Teaser)

Finally, The Lady and the Reaper can be seen in the big screen. It will be shown in many festivals and cinemas all around Spain and many other countries. It has already been shown in L.A. as well. As I previously posted in this blog, this short film has been made by Kandor Moon studios in between two productions: The Missing Lynx and our next motion picture Goleor: The Scales and the Sword. The script, original idea and direction (among many other things) are by Javier Recio. My job in it has been supervising previsualization and cameras, as well as animating a few shots (some of them are shown in the teaser I post here). For more information, you can check the website and the blog, where you'll find the latest news about the shortfilm as well as very rare and interesting production stuff, such as the very first sketches, storyboards, etc... I hope you like it.

Más para Mumfred

Mumfred

Here I post a color and character design test for the animation series project "Mumfred". The series is coing to be 3D, so I tried to give some volume to the character I had previously designed for my comics strips that the series is based on. I've drown it with fur, but I don't really know if it'll finally have fur or not. Probably I'll have to draw another version simulating fur with geometry volumes.

This is very quiet, so I've decided to post the last cover design I've made. It's not a great thing, but I wanted to post something. It's been years since I made my last cover design for a music album. I used to work on that, but I left it long ago. Recently I was asked to design this one as a favor, so I did it in one evening. That's the point of favors: you're pleased to do them, but for a short time :P

I've got this blog a little bit unattended lately. That's because of the summer. I've rather been outside than in front of a screen. But just to show you I'm still alive, here I leave a summerly post :) I was at the beach and, as we couldn't find any pen or paper, a friend and I managed as we could to make some character on the sand. Do you recognise him? :D

Finally, I'm permitted to show a little of my previous work for The Missing Lynx. While I prepare my reel with my animation shots (with the original English audio), I've wanted to post something just as a "snack" :P This is one of the many shots in the movie where I did everything from the storyboard to the final animation, including layout, so I thought it'd be interesting to show the whole process. Here it is.
